Mega Watt to Micro Watt
On 23 rd July, 2019, IEEE UIU Student Branch organized a seminar on ‘Mega Watt to Micro Watt’. This talk aimed to present various emerging applications of power converters and associated design challenges. The keynote speaker of this seminar was- Dr. Faisal Khan, Associate Professor, University of Missouri. The speaker has developed a new component to use in place of an inductor, which can replace on-chip micro inductors. This micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) contour-mode (patent granted) resonator and dc-dc converter circuits designed using this resonator was discussed. The other area discussed in the state of health estimation of power semiconductor devices and circuits using Prof. Khan’s patented spread spectrum time domain reflectometry SSTDR technology. This event was open for all.
