Demystifying Nuclear

On December 11, 2018, IEEE UIU Student Branch organized a workshop on “Demystifying Nuclear” which was conducted by IEEE Bangladesh Section. It was jointly organized by IEEE Bangladesh Section, IEEE Bangladesh Section Student Activities Committee, IEEE UIU Student Branch and IEEE Industrial Application Society, UIU Chapter. This program was patronized and funded by IEEE. On behalf of that facility, we were trying to flourish the idea of safe nuclear activity and future possible opportunity. The main goal was to clear all types of prejudices and misconception against nuclear power and the future potential and opportunities of it. Also the safe generation of power and the possible safety measure which will be introduced to prevent any kind of casualty in case of failure. Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant- Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, and the first of two units was expected to go into operation in 2023. So this workshop gave the idea and helped the students to know more about nuclear power energy and its uses. This event was open for all students.
